There are few things that can match a bearded and pain-strickenly mournful Himesh Reshammiya. This one is one of them. What's more, it doesn't even start with 'Uuuuuuuuuunnnnnnn'.
A radio ad that has been on air since quite a few months is what seems to have all of a sudden taken my class by storm. Blame it on exam fever, but the 65 and a half girls in my class have started obsessing over the pens we guys carry around in our pockets.
If you haven't been lucky enough to have encountered the 'Lexi Pens' radio spot, try imagining a sound system whose bass is a little messed up. Let me make it a little easier for you, just imagine Akshay Kumar with a sore throat.
Such is the voice that croons,
"Swapna sundari wearing maxi
Getting out of a yellow taxi
Walking to the club
Paagal ho gaye sab
Surprisingly, she choses me."
The 'swapna sundari', ahem, is someone whose voice is still at her foetal stage. Or maybe they just asked Kim Sharma to lend her voice to the rest of the jingle.
"Is that a pen in your pocket, mister?
Is that a pen in your pocket, mister?
Or are you, or are you, just happy to see me?
Or are you, or are you, just happy to see me?"
Er ... with a voice like that, it is obviously just a pen.
